Sugar is a sweet substance which we pretty much all love. It is highly addictive and really, really bad for you. The food companies know that sugar has a powerful hold on people, and they add it to many of their products to not only improve the flavour, but to get us hooked and wanting more.
When you start your next diet, or perhaps when you look over your food diary, take a look at the things you are eating and see if you can figure out where you are getting the most sugar from. Even if you aren’t someone who eats sweets, biscuits, cakes and chocolate, it is likely that your sugar will still be high – many common foods like breads, sauces, dips and marinades not to mention yoghurts(!) have lots of added sugar.
