We all think we know what we are doing when it comes to getting fit and losing weight – but there is one key mistake many women are making in the gym. They simply aren’t using the weights section enough (if at all!). Lots of women are scared to lift weights because they are worried the extra muscle will make them look bigger, or bulky. This really isn’t the case, as women do not have enough of the hormone Testosterone in their bodies to be able to “get bulky”. It isn’t exactly easy for men to bulk up that much either, without lots of hard work and heavy lifting! Here are some more reasons why you should add weights:
You will burn more fat! Simply by increasing the muscle in your body, you will burn more fat. It takes more calories for your body to sustain 1lb of muscle compared to 1lb of fat, so you will soon find that you naturally increase your metabolism by adding some weights sessions to your week.
Your limbs will look better – having better shaped muscles means your arms, legs, butt and tummy will start to look more shapely too.
